- Souffleurs d'Ecume answered the solidarity call launched by the Fondation pour la Nature et l'Homme. Your turn!
Established in 2000, Souffleurs d'Ecume is a registered association whose main goal is to maintain Mediterranean cetacean populations at a favourable conservation status. Favouring a scientific and cooperative approach, the association develops projects focused around interactions between human activities and the ecosystem. Most of these projects are carried out as part of Pelagos Sanctuary operations Franco-Italo-Monegasque agreement), and in partnership with ACCOBAMS (agreement on the Conservation of Cetaceans in the Black Sea, Mediterranean Sea and Contiguous Atlantic Area). Souffleurs d'Ecume is a partner association of the Foundation pour la Nature et l'Homme and the French Group of Scientific Interest for Mediterranean Marine Mammals (GSI3M).
Our team, including environmental engineers and technicians, information officers and lawyer in environmental law, work more specifically in the following areas:
- Studies in applied ecology (study and monitoring of collisions between vessels and cetaceans, socio-economic and ecological expertise on whale watching, impact study on pescaturismo projects in Corsica, etc.).
- Proposal and implementation of management measures (professional training courses, REPCET system aiming to limit the risks of collision, administration of an international certification to manage whale-watching activities, etc.).
- Support for communities and companies in ensuring their environmental responsibility policy (implementation and monitoring of guidelines and associated communication strategy).
